Shopify App Store Privacy Compliance Guaranteed

This Privacy Policy describes how DiscountFlow – Smart Discount ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and safeguards merchant and store data when you install or use our Shopify Application.

1. Overview & Data Philosophy

DiscountFlow is designed specifically for automated sale campaign scheduling and price restoration. We adhere strictly to a privacy-first approach, collecting only the minimal operational data required to execute sale discounts and preserve price history for your store variants.

2. Data Collected from Shopify Merchants

When you install and authorize DiscountFlow via Shopify OAuth, we collect and store the following specific categories of data:

A. Shop Information

  • Shop Domain & Shop ID: Unique Shopify store identifier (e.g., your-store.myshopify.com).
  • Shop Owner Email: Used exclusively for critical app notifications, billing receipts, and support communications.
  • Primary Currency & Timezone: Required to schedule sales according to your local business hours and store currency formatting.

B. Product & Inventory Data

  • Product IDs & Variant IDs: Identifiers of products included in your scheduled discount campaigns.
  • Original Variant Prices: Exact numerical price and compare-at-price values prior to campaign execution (used for safe price snapshots).
  • Campaign Configurations: Start times, end times, discount percentages, fixed amounts, and rule filters.

3. End-Customer Data Collection Declaration

DiscountFlow does NOT collect, store, track, or process personal identifiable information (PII) of your store's end-customers.

Our app operates entirely on backend product variant prices and inventory metadata. Customer names, email addresses, shipping addresses, payment details, and checkout histories are never accessed or retained by DiscountFlow.

4. Data Retention & Shopify Mandatory Webhooks Compliance

We retain merchant shop data and price snapshot records only for as long as the application remains installed on your Shopify store.

DiscountFlow fully supports and strictly adheres to Shopify's Mandatory GDPR / CCPA Compliance Webhooks:

  • customers/data_request: Since DiscountFlow stores zero end-customer PII, any customer data request returns an automated zero-record verification payload.
  • customers/redact: Confirms that zero customer PII exists within our cloud database structure.
  • shop/redact: Mandatory Store Erasure. Upon receiving a shop/redact webhook from Shopify (or automatically 48 hours following app uninstallation), our system permanently purges all database records, campaign histories, price snapshots, access tokens, and session keys associated with your store.

5. Data Security & Storage

All data transmitted between Shopify, your store, and DiscountFlow is encrypted in transit using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3 / HTTPS). Database snapshots and authentication credentials are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption hosted within secure cloud infrastructure with strict access controls.

Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before installing or using the DiscountFlow – Smart Discount Shopify application operated by DiscountFlow ("we", "us", or "our").

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing DiscountFlow on your Shopify store, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must uninstall the application immediately.

2. Account Integration via Shopify OAuth

DiscountFlow connects to your store using official Shopify OAuth authorization. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Shopify store admin credentials. DiscountFlow shall not be liable for unauthorized access resulting from compromised merchant admin accounts.

3. Billing & Subscription Charges

  • All subscription charges for DiscountFlow (including Free and Pro plans) are processed directly through Shopify Recurring Application Charges.
  • The Pro Plan includes a 7-Day Free Trial. If you uninstall the app before the 7-day trial period expires, your Shopify account will not be charged for the subscription.
  • All subscription fees are non-refundable except as mandated by Shopify App Store policies or applicable law.

4. Acceptable Use & Store Responsibilities

You agree not to use DiscountFlow for any illegal, fraudulent, or deceptive sales practices. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your scheduled discount rates, promotional terms, and store prices comply with consumer protection laws in your operating jurisdiction.

5. Automated Price Restoration & Backup Commitments

DiscountFlow employs serverless background job queues to capture variant price snapshots before executing discounts and automatically restores original prices when campaigns terminate. While we maintain a 99.9% queue uptime commitment, merchants are advised to review scheduled campaigns prior to peak traffic events.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, DiscountFlow shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits or revenues, arising out of your use of or inability to use the service.

7. Governing Law & Contact
